We visited the VLA in new Mexico last summer.
The VLA is a radio telescope, comprised of 27 independent antennas, mounted on 3 railroad tracks in a Y shape. These antennae kan be moved from being 600 metres, to 21 km from the centre.
It’s an impressive location, that has been used in the movies Terminator Salvation (2009) and Contact – (1997).
